The Staff Accountant will work with a team of accounting professionals to support an accurate and efficient close for various processes and accounts, with a focus on prepaids, accruals, and inter-company transactions.
The Staff Accountant will work with a team of accounting professionals to support the following;
Verify the accurate recognition of prepaid and accruals specific to field and branch operations
Perform monthly reviews of prepaids and accruals to ensure accuracy and completeness
Record insurance reserve adjustments and maintain supporting documentation
Offer analysis and insight to various functions to support growth initiatives in the business
Align with accounting leadership as necessary to ensure intercompany balances are accurate
Work with FP&A business partners for development of accurate forecast and analysis
Work with manager on assigned controls and ensure controls are in compliance with company policy with a focus on a risk-based approach
Assist with the identification & implementation of areas for efficiency, automation and acceleration within the close process
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and detailed fluctuation analysis for accounting leadership
Ensure security and integrity of financial information
Assist with Internal and External Audits
Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Experience
1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance fields
Experience with multi-unit organization
Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics
Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on all financial related decisions.
Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering repeatable, reliable solutions with flawless execution and superior customer service.
Ability to work independently, setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support.
Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience - Required
Masters in finance, accounting or related field - Preferred
