A Brief Overview
The incumbent will perform immunoassays and hematology, coagulation, and chemistry testing on biospecimens on various platforms. The incumbent will help to develop and implement SOPs, quality control procedures, cost-recovery processes, and expansion of services. The incumbent will be expected to maintain compliance to ensure that best practices and quality standards are utilized to support for translational and pre-clinical research. The incumbent will be responsible for helping to provide technical and operational guidance for the day-to-day operations of the TCL. The individual will be committed to continuous process improvement and performing with integrity and accountability. Candidates with Elisa experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

What you will do

  • Independently performs advanced, complex laboratory service procedures on biomedical samples.
    o Analyzes and organizes biospecimen testing results and provides reports to clients.
    o Helps to trains and mentor Jr. and new staff members.
    o Assists in determining work assignments, schedules, and laboratory priorities.
    o Assists in troubleshooting ongoing services.
    o Assist in protocol/method development.
    o Prepares laboratory reagents, monitors and maintains laboratory inventory and instruments.
    o Evaluates new methods, techniques or equipment and makes recommendations to the director and laboratory manager.
    o Assists in the research and development of new service assays, and validation and implementation as a routine protocol.
    o Serves as a technical resource throughout organization.
    o Presents & discusses work at weekly lab meetings.
    o Helps assures that all biosafety and regulatory requirements are in full compliance.
    o Assures that all applicable proficiencies are fully compliant.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (eg. Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience Required
  • At least three (3) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (eg. Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience Preferred

  • Advanced understanding of lab procedures, protocols, and equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with lab specific experiments / techniques.
  • Intermediate scientific analysis skills.
