ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS ANALYST/SPECIALIST/ENGINEER, AIR MONITORING AND TESTING
This position location will be in Atlanta, GA. The exact office location is negotiable within the Georgia Power footprint.

** Please Note: There will be up to, approximately, 75% travel associated with this position, primarily in GA.

JOB SUMMARY:The position will be responsible for establishing, enhancing, and/or maintaining Air Emissions Testing capabilities within the Georgia Power Air Monitoring and Testing organization, and provide testing services for Georgia Power and Southern Power generation facilities, with an emphasis on safety and quality.
The individual will serve in a variety of testing-related roles, including overseeing compliance testing programs ensuring Georgia Power and Southern Power receive quality, defensible data which meets or exceeds the State or Federal requirements; serving as project manager (including external contractors/testing firms), test team member(testing and report writing), as well as; reviewing, documenting, maintaining, developing, and/or enhancing testing processes and equipment; serving as a subject matter expert on emissions testing and measurement (both methods and compliance requirements) to constructively inform permit applications and air quality policy.
The individual may also provide quality testing support and project management of external contractors for any Georgia Power and Southern Power generation facilities for project support, turbine tuning, vendor guarantees, research applications, or other testing activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
· BS in Engineering, Science, Environmental Studies, or related field preferred, or equivalent job experience in stack/emissions testing and plant operation will be considered.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds using ergonomic practices
· Must have a safe driving record with ability to obtain a CMV license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to maintain and repair test equipment (Including certifications)
- Strong data analytics skills and ability to use data analysis tools, such as Excel
- The individual may have current QSTI Qualification for test groups 1 and 3, or 5, or must be willing to obtain the QSTI certification.
- At least 2 years previous emission testing experience preferred. Includes emission testing in the Utility, Manufacturing, Production, or Chemical Industry performing stack emissions testing as required by 40 CFR Part 75, or Part 60 to demonstrate compliance with State and Federal requirements.
