Job Description
The Supervisor - Warehouse Distribution is responsible for leading the shift in areas of shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety.
What your day will look like:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Coordinates all shipping/receiving along with transportation
- Oversees all inventory control and product rotation
- Manage Shipping/Receiving Department, Inventory, Repack, Gate, or Night Loading
- Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the units listed above
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Accurately approve and maintain employee time approval
- Manage employee scheduling such as vacation, sick, and requested time off
- Train employees on OSHA monthly trainings
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 12 months to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to become certified in forklift, riding pallet jack, and motorized vehicles
- Frequent standing and walking
- Ability to work in a team environment, resolve conflicts, possess effective communication skills, i.e. verbal, reading and writing, as well as calculate figures and percentages.
- Ability to work safely and securely
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, planning, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
