Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Test or Principal Test Engineer at its Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) organization in Colorado Springs, CO where you will join our growing team of qualified, diverse individuals at the Northrop Grumman Facility. The selected candidate will be able to invest years of experience into a future of excellence as a Test Engineer, providing engineering support for the JTAGS program. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.  Some travel may be required.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Test and evaluate GUI-based software to identify deficiencies and verify the product meets all applicable requirements.
• Prepare technical data packages to summarize test findings and outcomes, including written reports, checklists, PowerPoint presentations, and other test artifacts.
• Conduct a variety of test events for different purposes, including regression, design verification tests, post-integration check-out, system acceptance, and various developmental and operational tests.
• Participate in developing and managing system requirements, including selection of verification method and V&V approach.
• Support system, sub-system, and component level requirement verification efforts through demonstration, test, inspection, and analysis.
• Prepare, validate, and refine plans, procedures, and checklists used for testing activities.
• Document system deficiencies discovered through test events and work with cross-functional technical IPT to identify and implement a resolution.
• Perform pre-test readiness review checks to prepare for system evaluations.
• Work with your teammates to identify opportunities for enhancement of existing systems and capabilities.
• Support the technical IPT with configuration management of the system baseline.
• Help document and control the installed configuration of all contractor and government-operated systems under test (SUT).
This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity. We will consider candidates at a Level 2 and Level 3:
Basic Qualifications:  

Level 2: Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Systems, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline plus at least 2years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 0 years of experience OR high school diploma/GED and with 6 years of relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Level 3: Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Systems, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline plus at least 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience OR high school diploma/GED and with 9 years of relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.
• Has experience authoring technical reports using proper spelling, grammar, and document formatting.
Note: a Principal Test Engineer must be able to independently develop technical documentation, such as test reports, summaries, discrepancy documentation, and other technical documentation.
• Can repeatedly perform a set of complex tasks using a procedure or checklist.
Note: a Principal Test Engineer must be able to author and validate test plans, procedures, and checklists.
• Has beginner to intermediate knowledge and experience with developing, integrating, and/or testing software products.
Note: a Principal Test Engineer must possess intermediate to advanced knowledge.
• Can write detailed product deficiency reports to identify a product's failure to fully satisfy its requirements.
• Has experience reading and understanding technical requirements.
• Can create procedures and methods to test a product against its technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:

• CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent IAT Level 2 certification.
• Familiarity with RHEL and Windows OS.
• Possesses beginner to intermediate skillset with RHEL command line.
• Experience creating issues and user stories in a Jira database.
• Any experience conducting or supporting formal test events witnessed or led by the DoD, such as Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) and any other test related milestones such as test readiness reviews and test event out briefs.
• Has experience working with rack-mounted network hardware, such as servers, storage devices, power supplies, switches/routers, patch panels, cabling (e.g., ethernet, serial, fiber, etc.).
• Has experience working with satellite communications equipment, such as parabolic ground antennas.
• Has beginner to intermediate knowledge and experience with developing, integrating, and/or testing hardware.
• Experience with SATCOM ground stations and/or missile warning systems.
• Any RHEL or Windows systems administration experience.
Salary Range: $72,100 - $108,100
Salary Range 2: $88,600 - $133,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
