We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work within the shared lab of HHMI Investigator Dr. Tobias Walther and his scientific partner Dr. Robert Farese at Sloan Kettering Institute/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
The Farese & Walther Laboratory studies the mechanisms of lipid metabolism, storage and homeostasis. The lab uncovers the biochemical, physical and cell biological principles that cells use to store lipids and to determine how lipid balance and storage are maintained. The lab also studies how processes of lipid storage affect physiology and disease.
For our joint laboratory, we seek an outstanding individual with Ph.D. training in biochemistry, structural biology, cell biology or physiology to study the mechanistic basis of lipid storage in lipid droplets or lipid metabolism in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. General Qualifications:
PhD. and/or M.D./Ph.D. degree in cell biology, biochemistry, structural biology, or molecular biology
Effective communication skills, self-motivated, and a strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative group environment
Strong publication record is highly preferred

Compensation Range
$70,000.00 (minimum) - $80,500.00 (midpoint) - $91,000.00 (maximum)Pay Type:

HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
