Key Responsibilities
- Biotech sector coverage reporting to the Healthcare Portfolio Manager
- Develop investment theses by researching the industry and specific companies through medical and scientific due diligence, channel checks, earnings calls, company meetings, conferences and sell-side events
- Ability to accurately analyze complex medical literature, scientific data, statistical models and quickly distill key information that will impact investment decisions
- Communicate effectively research and new developments on a daily basis and track information about sector, companies, drug classes, regulatory and reimbursement decisions in a central repository
- Create valuation analyses on sector companies to arrive at price targets for existing holdings and price discrepancies on prospective holdings, based on fundamental drivers and a consistent valuation approach
- Develop trade recommendations rooted in carefully analyzed risk/ reward
- Deep understanding of financial statements and ability to create and maintain detailed financial models
- Strong work ethic, highest integrity, drive for results, entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity and honesty contributing to a positive culture and team environment
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in the biotechnology/ pharmaceutical sector either in clinical, scientific, financial services, or industry capacity
- 2+ years of experience as a dedicated investment analyst covering biotech/ pharmaceuticals for an institutional asset manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience covering both biotech and pharmaceuticals across all key therapeutic areas for a hedge fund
- Experience with private investments and derivatives
- Advanced degree (eg, MS, PharmD, PhD, MD)

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $200,000- $250,000 / year. Base salaries are determined in part based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
