The Web Analyst is a key role in SEI’s Marketing Analytics team. This position is responsible for analyzing and identifying key trends, opportunities, and causes of change in web traffic, while providing actionable insights into the performance of the company’s website(s). The individual in this role will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including digital marketing, Brand, Search, Marketing Operations, and Digital Experience, to deliver end-to-end marketing analytics that meet and exceed the requirements of internal clients.
A consultative mindset is essential as this position will involve building hypotheses, identifying data sources, and gathering, analyzing, and interpreting web data to generate insights. You will be expected to create and maintain dashboards, communicate findings, and deliver presentations to stakeholders at all levels. Your ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable format will be key in influencing decision-making across teams.
In this role, you will monitor ongoing changes in website performance for both student and prospect facing sites within Strategic Education. Scope of responsibility includes reporting to leadership on trends and impacts, regularly testing hypotheses, and using data to understand the impact of changes on the user experience. The Website Analyst will be an integral part of SEI’s website product ownership, supporting the setup, execution, and analysis of multiple web properties.
A natural curiosity and a passion for using data to understand marketing performance are essential, along with an innate drive to ask the right questions and "find the why" behind performance changes. This position requires someone who is both a strategic thinker and an efficient operator, capable of managing multiple priorities independently while facilitating knowledge transfer and enabling self-service analytics within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze web traffic data to identify trends, opportunities, and causes of change in website performance.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement strategic improvements.
- Build and maintain dashboards to monitor website performance, using data to inform decisions.
- Develop and present data-driven insights and reports to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable strategies.
- Generate hypotheses, test assumptions, and evaluate the effectiveness of website changes through A/B testing and other analytics techniques.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data and support the execution of testing initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of website optimization strategies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on web analytics, providing guidance and recommendations based on data findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or digital marketing/web relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years relevant digital/web analytics experience
- Strong analytical skills with experience in website analytics, data visualization, and dashboard creation.
- Proficient (2+ years) in web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics preferred) and data visualization platforms (PowerBI preferred).
- Demonstrated ability (2+ years) to connect multiple data sources and analyze large datasets using SQL
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- A curious mindset with the ability to ask the right questions and investigate underlying factors affecting website performance.
- Experience in A/B testing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and monitoring the impact of website changes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting while being an assertive self-starter and managing independent tasks.
