Job Description:

This is a support position for the video services department at Berklee NYC with responsibilities spanning both academic and commercial projects and operations. The ideal candidate will have some experience as a production assistant, operating camera, video equipment, lighting equipment, and production sound equipment, editing video projects, and assisting on shoots (video and photography).

This individual needs to have an astute attention to detail, a basic understanding of audio and video equipment (advanced knowledge a plus). This individual also needs to be willing to work flexible hours to adapt and accommodate their schedule to the schedule of sessions and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizing and maintenance for video equipment at Berklee NYC

  • Working as a camera operator or production assistant for BerkleeNYC events
  • Editing video projects for BerkleeNYC
  • Maintenance for Video Control Room
  • Backing up files after video shoots
  • Assisting students on video shoots
  • Taking photos for BerkleeNYC events
  • Report to Director of Video Service
  • Working as production assistant for commercial client sessions

Experience and Competencies:

  • A degree in media, film, or related field or commensurate experience
  • Recording studio background or experience greatly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic camera operations, lighting and sound recording for dialogs.
  • Knowledge of video editing softwares such as Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro or Davinci Resolve
  • Great communication skills, and the ability to interact with clients in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills while using good judgment and maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to innovate, prototype and iterate, and apply design thinking to curricular design.
  • Experience with training and managing staff in a music technology-driven environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, fairness, and equal opportunity.

    Hourly rate: $20
