Our best-in-class Strategy & Operational Effectiveness team has overarching responsibility for driving consistent strategy, project management, and enterprise architecture across global Wabtec IT.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of our IT leadership staff, Wabtec is looking for an individual to run a best-in-class Strategy & Process Management function. The Vice President – IT, Strategy & Operational Effectiveness role reports directly to the CIO and is responsible for establishing and maintaining Wabtec IT’s key workstreams including project management, vendor management, software asset management, financial management, and continuous improvement. This role will define excellence and evolving leadership for a strategic team, collaborate with all levels of IT leadership, and use influence to drive optimal processes driving innovation and efficiency.
What do we want to know about you?
You must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of diverse IT leadership experience, setting strategy and IT governance processes
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in people management and leading teams
- Demonstrated experience working in a business operations function of IT within a global corporate environment
- Executive level communication skills, including the ability to use verbal and written communication to express ideas clearly and succinctly
- Must be able and willing to travel as needed (typically <10%)

What will your typical day look like?
- Create consultative teams for best practice in project management, financial management, enterprise architecture, asset management, and more to drive IT forward
- Lead and mentor a team of leaders, inspiring and influencing a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Cross-functional collaboration with all sub-functions of IT, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of projects and initiatives
- Implement and manage the execution of IT Governance processes to ensure a highly functioning IT capability for Wabtec. This includes standardizing existing processes and formalizing ongoing execution.
- Conduct annual benchmarking studies and drive continuous improvement for the IT function. Help to identify actions in response to continuous improvement opportunities.
- Own and consistently deliver leadership dashboards that provide real-time visibility into project progress, costs, and risks, enabling informed decision-making executive insights
- Coordinate the development of the annual 5-year strategic plan including application roadmaps, key projects, technology refreshes and associated operating and capital budgets.
- Recognize potential opportunities and execute strategies for IT and Wabtec to deliver for customers
- Driving accountability to all IT departments for meeting performance standards set by SPM team
- Own and improve the project portfolio processes (PMO) associated with IT projects including
- a process for the continual review and prioritization of incoming demand
- systematic project gate reviews and status reporting for project execution
- project financial tracking and KPI reporting
- Own and improve processes associated with IT Vendors including
- Coordination with Sourcing on RFPs and engagement of new vendors
- Execution of regular reviews with all vendors and annual strategic reviews with a limited set of critical vendors.
- Management of a system and/or process to review purchased service engagement SOWs.
- Manage Change Control processes including execution of weekly change control reviews, production of regular KPI’s, and support as required for SOX and IT controls reviews.
- Manage the Software Licensing discipline including development and maintenance of the Flexera Software Asset Management application and associated processes. Support process associated with the deployment and optimization of licenses across the company.
- Coordinate Finance-related reviews including interaction with CIO and IT Finance for budgeting and monthly reviews of actuals.
- Coordination between the Communication and IT Leadership teams to drive consistent, regular communication to the company on IT-related matters as well as the internal IT meeting such as Quarterly All Hands meetings.
- Assist in development of master KPI’s which measure the effectiveness of IT solutions and services.
- Drive utilization of ServiceNow as the IT platform for process execution.
- Champion the monthly and quarterly Operations review meetings.

Work Environment:
- Hybrid work schedule (both on-site and remote)

$194,700.00-$277,400.00The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
