Full Job Description
Job Purpose:
Maintains transport trailer serviceability by conducting inspections and making repairs.
Duties:
* Keeps transport trailers available for use by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests using scanners, electronic test equipment, completing preventive maintenance, such as, Testing Lights, ABS Systems, Brake service, component replacement. Mig Welding Steel and aluminum is a plus.
* Maintains transport trailer condition by reviewing shop orders; listening to operator complaints; repairing failures; removing, replacing, assembling, and installing parts and components involving sheet metal, frames, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems, axles, hubs, tires, wheels, and coupling units.
* Maintains transport trailer records by recording service and repairs.
* Keeps shop equipment operating by calibrating electrical test equipment; following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
* Contains costs by conserving use of equipment and supplies.

Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding, Job Knowledge, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Dependability, Technical Zeal, Productivity
Able to lift and carry 75 pounds
Can troubleshoot and diagnose issues on trailers
Can move 53ft Semi-trailers around shop and back into work bays
Has knowledge and can repair the following on Semi-trailers
1.Air-brake systems
2. ABS Systems
3. Trailer lighting and electrical system
4. Suspension systems (Air-ride and Spring)
5. Cut and repair trailer flooring
6. Patch and seal side panels and roof leaks
7. Landing gear
8. DE- Identify (Remove logos and decals) with heat
9. Buck Rivets and replace panels
10. Install E-track and scuff liner
Welding and fabrication work
1. Steel mig welding
2. Cutting torch
3. Plasma cutter
4 Grind and prep surfaces to be welded
5. Aluminum mig welding
