Full Job Description

Job Summary

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for test development and sustaining support for NPI and existing products at our 3rd party repair sites. You will leverage your programming expertise and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross functional groups to understand issues and resolve problems at hand. You will help acquire test fixtures, test development, test equipment setup and validation to prepare repair sites with readiness for NPI products. You will engage with repair sites to remotely assist with test failures. You will work with cross functional teams to develop a deep understanding of the inner working of test solutions and products, understand test results and contribute to improved product quality.

Job Requirements

  • Define, design, and implement functional and system level tests for complex NetApp products with repair and refurbishment goal in mind.
  • Define, design, and implement Custom tests for remediation/rework of defective material.
  • Debugging intermittent test failures and provide corrective updates to improve coverage.
  • Provide sustaining support to 3rd Party Repair sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within operations (NPI, Board Level Test, System Level Test, Test Infrastructure, Test Automation Tools, RMA/RCA, Planning).
  • Work closely and coordinate required actions with partner engineering teams.
  • Test and quality support for products from NPI to Post-Production life cycles.
  • Conduct regular reviews of product changes, assess impact to repair center test processes and plan for appropriate support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal development processes.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels from supporting engineers to Senior and Executive Management.
  • May require occasional travel to partner sites.

Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline and 2 years of related test and quality experience; Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in test automation frameworks.
  • Understanding of network technologies and physical interfaces.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Server technologies and Storage Systems hardware.
  • Experience in Linux systems and tools.
  • Good understanding of root causing failures.
  • Programming skills:Shell Script, Python, C#, Custom Test Automation.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $101,300 - $142,300 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
