Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. has an exciting opening for a Technical Documentation Specialist to become part of a high-performing team in beautiful Saint Inigoes, Maryland! In this role, you will directly support the Combat Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) through researching, drafting, and creating Quality Assurance (QA) workbook documentation in support of the U.S. Navy's Fleet Modernization Program for both the AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system and standalone IFF systems in accordance with the requirements defined in NAVSEA instruction TS9090-310H.
The Role:
Reading and interpreting a Ship Change Document to identify tasks and requirements to accomplish a ship alteration.
Reading and interpreting Ship Installation Drawings and Field Change Instructions for a wide variety of alterations performed on Destroyers, Cruisers, Littoral Combat Ships, Carriers, and plenty of others.
Determining which Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items have governance over a particular ship alteration.
Leveraging Alteration Installation Team knowledge and experience to prepare each Test and Inspection Plan with applicable attachments.
Creating the Alteration Installation Team Manager's Quality Assurance Program (AMQAP) Quality Oversight Schedule and Surveillance Plan for each ship alteration.
Reviewing NAVSEA, Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO), and location specific safety requirements and creating comprehensive Safety Plans for each installation.
Receiving and applying training received regarding the Navy's Fleet Modernization Program to inform continuous improvement efforts and kick start professional growth.

Self-starter with ability to learn large amounts of information quickly
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe AcrobatPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with RMMCO Alteration Installation Team check-in or checkout
Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items
Experience building a QA workbook per NAVSEA Technical Specification TS9090-310H
Technical writing experience
Excellent personal, organization and documentation management skills with an editor's eye for details
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $64130 - $109010
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
