Staff Accountant

The position of Staff Accountant will help in a variety of functions within SharkNinja. This will include preparing journal entries, summarizing results, general ledger analysis, and completing account reconciliations. This role will be focused on revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, and inventory accounting.  This person will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong accounting processes and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP. This is a great opportunity to join a public, fast-paced business. The position will provide the opportunity to learn how high growth business models operate, all while obtaining substantial guidance, feedback, and mentoring from a Finance team with private and public accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records and files, and reconciling accounts
  • Validating deductions received from retailers
  • Assisting in inventory control procedures
  • Learning and enhancing our current accounting procedures
  • Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Collaborating with internal and external business partners to resolve transactional issues
  • Acting as liaison between Finance and other departments
  • Supporting our internal and external audits
  • Supporting and maintaining strong internal control policies and procedures
  • Supporting warehouse audits onsite across various locations in the U.S.
  • Identifying and leading opportunities for process improvements
  • Providing accounting support to other business units for special projects/ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as necessary

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA preferred but not required
  • 1+ year of public or industry-specific accounting experience
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented with proven analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • High degree of business acumen and emotional intelligence
  • Team player with ability to effectively and efficiently work cross-functionally
