Full Job Description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Product Planner to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, Ga. The Sr. Product Planner will focus on leading Project development for class leading ATV/SxS vehicles and accessories. They will examine the ATV/SxS market to determine concepts to bring to market while working closely with Engineering, Testing, Design and Sales to determine effective Marketing communication plans for each project.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead all development aspects of ATV/SxS projects including customer targeting, new model concepting, target market, usage, function, styling, business justification, internal negotiation and any related materials needed to develop products that exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Lead QFD development and communication with the testing teams to achieve project targets set inside the MTP.
  • Use all aspects of quantitative and qualitative consumer research to determine long term customer value and support Product Planning Manager with LTP/MTP Development.
  • Lead and negotiate Accessory/Unit integration within projects with the support of Accessory Development Planner
  • Lead and deliver new model press introduction, internal/external communication, and dealer introduction materials, including presenting.
  • Development MTP/LTP Materials to support the Product Planning Manager in achieving our long-term vision.
  • With a high level of autonomy, this role is actively planning future strategy and developing a cohesive image to the customer through product development. Decision making within the scope of this role is often solely with the individual, larger directional decisions will be made with the Product Planning Manager.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • At least a bachelor’s level degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of ATV/SXS experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Strong Experience in conducting and analyzing research
  • Must be highly proficient in project management with the ability to manage multiple
  • Proficient at Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word. SPSS and Mtab experience is also beneficial
  • ATV/SxS industry experience (OE, dealership or other) with an understanding of U.S. customer usage, trends and interest in the ATV/SxS culture
  • Self-motivated, determined work ethic, committed to accomplishing tasks and goals, regardless of the circumstances. 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and presentation)
  • Must be flexible in work hours, as well as traveling over weekends (including overseas) up to 50% at peak times.
  • Applicant must be able to handle confidential information
  • ATV/SxS Riding/Driving experience required
