This position is considered to be Fully Onsite, work is to be done onsite at a PetSmart location (Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart stores, Merchandise Development Center, Distribution Centers or another PetSmart site).

SUMMARY

The Senior HR Coordinator is a tactical partner to the HR team and operations leadership team within an assigned Distribution Center (DC) and provides support, insight and solutions on matters related to key HR processes, data, administrative tasks, associate support, engagement and culture.  Partners appropriately with peers and others within the Distribution Center network to identify efficiencies, streamline processes and maintain consistency across the network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with the Manager, HR, to support the HR strategy and culture for the DC.
  • Operates in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment and provides support by being present on the floor of the DC, interacting with associates and leaders. Focus on relationship building with both hourly associates and leaders, fostering a pro-associate culture of trust, respect and teamwork.
  • Conducts intake for associate inquiries, issues and concerns, leveraging problem solving and decision making skills to determine resolution, and escalating to HR Manager as appropriate. Ensures all issues are acknowledged promptly and follows up regularly, ensuring associates and leaders are informed about the resolution of their concerns. 
  • Leverages business acumen, acting as functional expert for all administrative HR functions for assigned DC and as needed in the DC network, including but not limited to processing time and attendance and recruiting, LOA support, setting up new hire onboarding, and related administrative functions.
  • Responsible for keeping and maintaining database information, and by request, providing basic data insights and appropriate feedback to the DC HR team, supporting the HR strategy.

  • Actively involved in DC Centers of Excellence (COE), providing impactful feedback, solutions and support.
  • Supports DC change management and agility through consistent communication and feedback while on the floor with associates and leaders.
  • Coordinates New Hire Orientation classes, including preparation for onboarding, conducting HR portion of orientation, and ensuring compliance and completion of all onboarding tasks and expectations. May conduct similar support for other training sessions, as well.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting and scheduling of associate engagement activities that take place in the DC such as Listening Sessions and Belonging Council meetings.
  • Supports and drives participation in company and DC programs and initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years experience administrative or customer-facing experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS 

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional lines and at various levels.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, conflicting priorities with an initiative-taking approach and localized focus andstrong organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen and technical skills, with proven, measurable results.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft software; Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
