Northrop Grumman is seeking Sr. Principal Systems Engineers. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Rolling Meadows, IL.   The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Payload & Ground Systems division.
Basic Qualifications: 

• 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 3 Years with PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical degree.

• Familiarity with the System Engineering V-Model and prior experience executing the systems engineering workflow.

• Excellent communication, organization and coordination skills (working with cross-functional teams).

• Proficient with MATLAB, C/C++, or similar object-oriented programing languages

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following specialty areas related to EOIR/RF systems: sensors/antennas, transmitters/receivers, and optics

• Educational background or experience with signal/image processing techniques

• Knowledge of the space domain (e.g. orbital mechanics, remote sensing, atmospheric effects, etc.)

• Agile development experience a plus

• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph is preferred

Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
