Role Overview:

The skills strategy senior associate will support the skills transformation lead in implementing a company-wide strategy for introducing and incorporating skills-informed talent practices and processes across the organization. This role focuses on project management and delivery, skills & role governance and program management of skills-related initiatives throughout the organization in collaboration with the skills project team, internal business partners, vendors and business stakeholders. Given the size of the team and how this discipline is emerging, you'll have multiple projects at any time and will have to be agile and flexible as we develop our approach and process.

What You'll Do:

Project Management & Strategy Implemenetation: Manage & own project planning and support company-wide rollout for skills initiative, including staggered implementation and prioritization of focus areas

  • Lead & support PMO and related initiatives, including calendaring, planning, RAID Log, and project plan. Ensure continuity and sustainability of project outcomes.
  • Participate in the design, development and delivery of the solutions we will offer overtime.
  • Support development of strategic documents that highlight and reflect the status of project milestones and forward looking plans, in addition to materials to support our skills governance (steer co, governance committee, etc.)
  • Develop and own roadmap materials, documenting timelines, project documents and implementation plans. Partner with skills lead to create materials to share a cohesive story for the business, ensuring clear communication of project goals, progress, and business benefits.
  • During rollout, manage progress against success measures, partner with the data & analytics team to report metrics. Develop and present regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Support deployment of various components of functionality over time. Document repeatable playbook for deployment that includes training, communications, dependencies and change processes, and that specifically highlights what is customizable for businesses.
  • Partner with the vendor to learn about and incorporate product enhancements, including the deployment of new features including testing, change coordination, training, integration, etc.
  • Serve as admin in career hub platform.

Program Design & Product Owner: Gigs & Skills Governance. Develop and be the product owner for our internal new gigs process and partner to support skills governance. This includes supporting the design of practices, policies, cultural norms, and workflows needed to launch the programs and program management overtime.

Gigs:

  • Manage gig marketplace program organization-wide, ensuring adequate project flow and reporting on metrics. Collaborate with business leaders, HRBPs, and employees to gather input and continuously improve the marketplace.
  • Design and manage gig governance across the organization. Partner to own the governance structure to oversee gig owners within the business, and support hosting quarterly meetings. Oversee all gigs in the marketplace and ensure adherence to our guidelines and policies. Work with gig leads to make necessary edits as needed.
  • Report on success and usage of platform, process, etc.
  • Present on gig process to various audiences as the are added to the program

Skills governance:

  • Support the skill governance process that is determined in partnership with comp.
  • Document & support implementation of practices for how skills are defined, refined, validated, maintained & used and how they are reflected and captured in our tools & systems.
  • Partner with HR, IT, comp and business leaders to ensure that role constructs are accurately reflected and maintained across all systems
  • Support the Jobs Intelligence Engine in Eightfold, supporting the design of the process and management for how business areas define and calibrate roles.

Future of Skills Initiative: Support the skills transformation lead in developing and implementing the future strategy for skills, including methodologies for skills validation, assessment, addressing trends and gaps identified with the tool, opportunities to strengthen data and improve internal processes.

  • Support design of processes for embedding skills into broader talent processes, including performance management, listening strategies, etc.
  • Support development and implementation of innovative methodologies for skills validation and assessment, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices. Identify and collaborate with vendors who can support this.
  • Analyze NYLs skills data to identify trends and skills gaps across the organization. Prepare results for senior leadership and help develop strategies to address skills gaps.
  • Develop and enforce standards for data management, ensuring consistency in how skills are defined, captured, and utilized across the organization. Identify opportunities to innovate within the skills strategy, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to improve outcomes.
  • Support training design &delivery and facilitate training sessions as needed, both in-person and virtually

What You'll Bring:

You will bring a deep understanding of project management principles, with a focus on guiding large-scale, company-wide initiatives. Your expertise includes developing and maintaining governance frameworks for roles and skills within an organization, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all systems. You are expert at analyzing data and can use data-driven insights to assess and address skills gaps, working closely with stakeholders to design and implement strategies that align with business goals. You will have an understanding of how skills informed processes work and have a drive to keep current in this space. You will have knowledge about and experince with talent intellignce tools (i.e. Eightfold.AI).

Beyond your technical expertise, you excel in communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences, whether it's crafting strategic documents for senior leadership or facilitating training sessions. Your collaborative approach allows you to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors. A natural problem solver, you are always looking for innovative ways to improve processes and deliver value to the business. You are organized, can switch gears quickly and enjoy learning as you go.

  • Experience building, supporting or implementing skills-based strategies or technology (i.e. Eightfold.AI) preferred
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional projects with a focus on implementation and sustainability.
  • Experience with job analysis and/or competency modeling
  • Experience with executing change management initiatives
  • Experience in managing governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity and consistency
  • Proficient in using data to identify trends, assess skills gaps, and inform decision-making.
  • Takes initiative independently, with a proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines and delivering high quality results
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, desire to grow and learn
  • 5+ year's experience in HR, Talent, Management Consulting or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$95,000-$162,500

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
