Full Job Description

Description:Perform routine straightening, hand finishing, and forming operations to form sheet metal details.

Follow prescribed procedures, operations sheets, templates, paper tools, and other detailed oral or written instructions to perform forming, hand hammering, roll flattening, straightening, hand finishing and joggling operations. Drill, trim or burr, counterbore, countersink, spot face, ream, chamfer, scribe, and polish to form sheet metal details, including steel, titanium, and magnesium. Use hand and simple power tools such as hammers, snips, files, sanders, tab cutters, saws, lasers for ID, vibro-peen, rubber stamps, foot shrinkers, drills, and scribes to form and finish sheet metal details. Check parts for wrinkles, cracks, burrs, distortion and insure conformance to specifications and quality standards. Use straight edges, surface plates, protractors, scales, micrometers, vernier calipers, and depth gauges to check work. Rack, wire, or place parts in baskets as required to support drop quench heat treat system. Move parts around work area and perform a variety of helper duties as work follow demands. Perform daily and periodic cleaning of tools to insure proper utilization of equipment. Document work as required to complete job assignment. Perform other duties of a related or similar nature, as directed. Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety; contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator-required upkeep; segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices. Refer only unusual conditions to working leader or supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires knowledge of arithmetic and measuring instruments such as scale micrometer combination square, etc, to measure check dimensions.

Use hand and power tools to cut and drill materials and form parts.

Work from simple drawings, use templates and form blocks.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience in sheet metal work preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
