Job Description Join the BAE Systems team in St. Mary's County, MD and be part of a diverse and enthusiastic team who solves some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Quality Analyst to join our team. As the Quality Lead assigned to our local machine shop, you will be actively engaged in assuring product compliance and assisting Quality Manager with program compliance. You will be responsible for overseeing and improving the quality assurance processes and systems within the machine shop, with a specific focus on implementation of our ISO 9001-quality program and technical compliance with engineering documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products/services meet or exceed customer expectations, regulatory requirements, internal program requirements, and the ISO 9001:2015 Standard. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality program oversight with a keen focus on machine shop operations, an excellent attention to detail, ability to read & understand technical drawings, experience with ASME Y14-Series Standards, and a solid track record of supporting quality assurance/quality control initiatives.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School diploma and at least 6 years of relevant experience in the quality field
In-depth knowledge of machinist and/or machine operator activities
Experience implementing and overseeing an ISO 9001-based quality program
Proven ability to inspect product against technical drawings to assure compliance
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in accordance with ISO 9001 Standards
General familiarity with MILSPECs
Solid understanding of ASME Y14.5, with good familiarization with the ASME Y14-Series Standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and provide respectful, constructive feedback
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft SharePointPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Any of the following ASQ Certifications: Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Inspector (CQI), or Quality Technician (CQT)
Prior work as a Machinist or Machine Operator
Familiarity with CG and DDG shipboard communications systems
Experience with electrical/electronic or RF systems in addition to mechanical
Knowledge of the equipment and systems functions can be beneficial when fabricating support hardware
Comprehensive knowledge of MIL-STD-454 and/or MIL-HDBK-454
Experience in Lean Six Sigma (Greenbelt certified)
Experience working with databases and spreadsheets to analyze and report performance data
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple problems without routine management supervision
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
