Reporting to the Executive Director, US Marketing - Bone, the Senior Director, US HCP Marketing Bone will lead all HCP (Healthcare Professional) marketing initiatives and maximize the opportunity to enable patients with rare/ultra-rare Bone diseases (osteogenesis imperfecta) US market. This role requires a visionary leader with proven success and deep expertise in rare disease and biopharmaceutical marketing, who will design and execute world-class brand strategies and tactical plans that drive adoption and optimize patient access.
This position involves extensive cross-functional collaboration and partnership with key internal teams, including Field Engagement, Patient Services, Market Access, Marketing Research, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Compliance, as well as external stakeholders.
Work Model:
Remote: Officially documented as working full-time from home, with travel to Ultragenyx's offices or other locations on occasion as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and flawless execution of annual HCP marketing plans, including brand strategies and tactical initiatives to support patient access and HCP engagement, including peer-to-peer education.
- Oversee the development and implementation of HCP-focused launch strategies, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals, using performance metrics to inform adjustments and optimize outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in working in matrix environment, work closely with Field Engagement, Market Access, Patient Services, and Global Brand Strategy teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of US and global marketing strategies and tactics, as well as collaborating with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Patient Advocacy, and Government Affairs to ensure marketing strategies comply with ethical and legal standards.
- Manage all aspects of congress content and execution, including messaging, booth design, onsite materials, and field training.
- Establish measurement frameworks for all HCP initiatives, report results, and implement data-driven adjustments.
- Analyze market research and insights to inform strategic direction and prioritize initiatives that address barriers to patient flow and access.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including advertising and communications agencies, to achieve marketing objectives.
- Lead launch readiness meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on goals and progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of marketing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 8 years in HCP marketing for rare or ultra-rare diseases.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting market research to inform guide strategic direction and prioritize tactics.
- Expertise in managing external partners, including creative agencies.
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset to develop innovative solutions.
- Strong leadership and ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts and ensure flawless execution
- Excellent public presentation skills and written communication skills, including with complex scientific and clinical concepts.
- Up to 30% travel within the United States is required. #LI-CS1 #LI-Remote
The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job, such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.
