A Brief Overview
The Sr. Assoc Director of Prospect Management will coordinate and maintain CHOP Foundation's principal gift pipeline and annotated table of gifts. Along with Principal Giving and Executive Initiatives leadership, they will help drive a cohesive campaign pipeline strategy, ensuring that all pipeline documentation reflects current strategy and our best intelligence on our top 400 prospects. Whereas the Principal Giving team owns the development/support/implementation of PG donor strategies, the SAD of Prospect Management will audit our pipeline and lead initiatives to strengthen pipeline-building and dynamic portfolio management. This position will report to the heads of Prospect Development and Research (primary team) and Principal Gifts (secondary team).
What you will do
- Partnering with Prospect Development team members and other key stakeholders (e.g., Technology, Individual Giving, Institutional and Events Fundraising, Campaign and Chief Development Officer), develop an aspirational Gift Table (for both fiscal year and campaign) that reflects our current strategy and best intelligence on our top 400 donor prospects (including CHOP Foundation's data, predictive modelling and other analytics).
- Partnering with Director of Prospect Development and Assoc. Director of Prospect Management, , make strategic recommendations for invite lists for intimate campaign events (salons, insider events, celebrations) and in managing and maintaining portfolios for senior staff
- Collaborate with front line teams on how to improve velocity and response-rate of moving constituents through the Moves-Management process.
- Build systems, tools, processes and strategies for continuous pipeline building and more dynamic portfolio management (with Donor Technology team).
- Develop/report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure pipeline health, reveal gaps in our pipeline strategy, identify true prospects (vs. unrealistic or long-shot suspects) and monitor the timely movement of our top prospects through the giving cycle

- Qualification visits
- Duration in qualification, cultivation or stewardship cycles
- # prospects actively managed in portfolios and churn of portfolios (time each managed prospect spends in each stage of the giving cycle).
- Ensure the CRM has complete and accurate information for the top 100 prospects
- Research top principal gifts prospects and inform their target "stretch" solicitation amounts for the next campaign.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of prospect research, management or fundraising experience in a complex organization. Required
- Prospect research, management or fundraising experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strategic, organized and detail-oriented
- Experience with Advizor and other pipeline management software preferred
- Experience in a capital campaign is valued
- Goal- and achievement-oriented and self-motivated
- Strong knowledge of the role of prospect development and research and the logistics required to support a sophisticated development program
- Collaborative and able to work and communicate effectively with colleagues across the Foundation
- Direct experience working within a comprehensive fundraising campaign
- Proficient in Salesforce and CRM database management
