Your Role:

We are seeking a skilled leader to oversee the Security Engineering Team. You will play a critical role and lead security personnel, developing strategy, setting goals, and providing performance and professional development feedback. As the Security Engineering Manager, you will lead the security engineering team to continually improve the team and manage security policies, procedures, and processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing tool deployment, engineering, and architecture. Familiarity with liaising with partners and vendors to review and evaluate new tools and capabilities. In addition, this role is a working contributor and will need to have appropriate time management skills to balance.

Your work:

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with senior management to define security strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Develop security policies, standards, and procedures.

Team Management

  • Lead a team of security engineers and analysts.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members.
  • Allocate resources effectively to address security challenges.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Identify security risks and vulnerabilities across the enterprise.
  • Implement risk mitigation measures, including endpoint and network security tools.
  • Monitor security incidents and respond promptly.

Security Architecture

  • Design and maintain security architecture, considering both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Evaluate and select security technologies and tools.

Incident Response and Investigations

  • Coordinate incident response efforts during security breaches or incidents.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to understand root causes and prevent recurrence.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, development, compliance) to integrate security practices.
  • Engage with vendors to evaluate and implement security solutions.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

Compliance and Auditing

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Participate in security audits and assessments.
  • Reporting
  • Provide monthly updates on key metrics of the security operations team.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • 6+ years of IT and relevant security experience.
  • 4+ years of experience leading or serving as a senior member of a security engineering team or similar.
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, Management, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

The national average salary range for this position is $152,010 - $168,900 However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] [hourly rate range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $136,710 - $185,400. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15 of eligible pay.
