Who will you be working with?

You'll be joining our innovative Wabtec Bus Solutions division, a team dedicated to developing leading systems for the Transit Bus & Rail industries including eBus charging systems, innovative passenger door systems, access ramps, and wheelchair lifts. Our group combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of bus product requirements to deliver industry-leading solutions, lasting value to our customers, and cutting-edge technologies that shape the future of public transit.

How will you make a difference?

Responsible for meeting or exceeding customer needs while fulfilling the sales goals of Ricon Corp and other Wabtec Bus Solutions entities product offerings as assigned within a multi-country regional area including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China. Responsible for sales activities and service calls in support of OEM's and end users within the territory.

What do we want to know about you?

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor of Science (B. S.) Engineering degree, with a minimum five to seven years progressive sales experience preferably in fleet transportation equipment or similar area. Minimum two years in sales territory management.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing the performance of others.
  • Ability to negotiate WIN/WIN agreements.
  • Organized and detailed with a hands-on approach to serving customer needs.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues/applications using wiring diagrams and application drawings.
  • Able to judge and react positively to a wide variety of customers and their needs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate unique selling points to a broad audience including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Safety professional because of the custom engineered product offerings.
  • High capability for understanding and manipulating data within Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to provide detailed reports about product failures/issues to stakeholders, including engineering, quality, and operations.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Responsible for ensuring the annual sales plan is met or exceeded; all territory reports are submitted in a timely manner and are accurate; participate in the formulation of annual sales targets and provide monthly forecast updates; and timely submittal of expenses that have been pre-authorized.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date customer data within CRM (Salesforce), including but not limited to the following: Market Opportunities, Visit Reports, Calendar Updates (visit schedule), Tender Updates, and Customer Leads.
  • Responsible for participating in local, state, and national trade shows and industry events where Ricon Corp and other Wabtec Bus Solutions products are displayed.
  • Support resolution of all technical product related issues that may arise with the support of Wabtec Bus Solutions Quality & Engineering departments.
  • Present as a technical expert across Ricon product offerings including lifts, ramps, power transfer seats, and related accessibility products. Support the introduction, sale and service of other assigned Wabtec Bus Solutions products including transit bus doors, transit bus windows, transit bus air dryers, and transit electric bus charging equipment.
  • Establishes rapport with all key OEMs, Distributors, Dealers and end customers in the territory.
  • Responsible to ensure Wabtec approved Distributors/Dealers promotes, sells, and secures new business opportunities while maintaining and managing existing accounts in the best interests of Wabtec and consistent with signed Agreements. Ensures that Ricon Corp and assigned Wabtec Bus Solutions products are positioned to be selected by OEMs and end users on proposals and/or bids.
  • Recommends policies and programs in the areas of sales, service, marketing, and pricing.
  • Ensures the customer needs are being fulfilled, always holding the customer as a primary focus, while ensuring that decisions are made in the best interest of Wabtec.
  • Researches and recommends new product development or enhancements to existing product line.
  • Demonstrates products and services; assist others in selection of products and services best suited to their needs.
  • Responsible for supporting Finance with any cash collections from Customers when required.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • The employee will primarily work from home with travel to customer locations as required to fulfill the requirements of the position. Occasional travel to Ricon Corp or other Wabtec Bus Solutions locations may be required on a pre-approved basis.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.
