Responsibilities*
? Provide expert nursing care to infectious disease patients in the ambulatory outpatient clinics.
- Provide telephone triage, patient education, direct patient care including injections, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
- Monitor laboratory results daily for abnormalities and record into CAREWare database required for HATP grant funding.
- Assist providers and Medical Assistants (MAs) with daily clinic flow and as necessary to maintain clinic flow in a timely manner.
- Address encounters and prescription refills received in the HATP RN inbox.
- Assist with immunizations and injections in clinic and during nurse visits.
- Maintain Cabenuva and Lenacapavir injection schedule according to standard practices and required dosing schedules. Maintain waiting list for Cabenuva.
- Assist MAs with medication prior authorizations (including Cabenuva and Lenacapavir) as needed to facilitate timely completion.
- Assume Quality Management leadership as required by Federal Grant
- Assist with grant renewal writing each year.
- Collect necessary data to complete Ryan White programmatic goals and objectives as detailed in the program work plan and assigned by program leadership.
- Participate in HATP and Quality committee meetings.
- Work with licensed providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
- Participate as a professional member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Teach patients and families pertinent information regarding the patient condition and treatment plans including education regarding adverse effects and proper use of HIV antiretroviral medication.
- Assist in orientation of team members as appropriate, including observation and participation of patient care activities.
- Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.

Required Qualifications*
? Current License to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
- Three (3) years recent experience as a registered nurse, caring for adults with acute or chronic conditions in an inpatient or ambulatory care setting.
- One (1) year, within the last 3 years of RN experience in ambulatory care setting.
- Proficiency with MiChart inbasket management and documentation of patient encounters in electronic health record, e.g., Epic
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidence by resume, annual evaluations, and references.
- Adept at efficient collaboration and teamwork as evidence by annual evaluations and references.

Desired Qualifications*
- BSN
- One (1) or more continuous years of caring for patients with HIV infection.
- Ability to interpret HATP data to enhance program quality and lead continuous quality improvement efforts required by the grant.
- Knowledge of special needs of immune compromised patients such as experience with transplant, hematology/oncology, HIV or other specialty patients.
- Experience in telehealth nursing.
- Proficiency with MiChart inbasket management and documentation of patient encounters in electronic health record, e.g., Epic
- One (1) year, within the last two years, of electronic lab monitoring for patients on immunosuppressive medications.
Work Schedule
? 40 hours/week.
- Shift/Hours/Days: Day Shift; Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts, holidays, weekends and evenings may be required based on clinic needs. Flexibility is required.
Location ?Position is currently hybrid and at Taubman center, subject to change based on needs. All orientation efforts take place on-site.
This position is grant funded and limited to the term of the funding period. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
