Demand Response Real Time Operator
Job Summary:
The Demand Response Real Time Operator role will work inside the Princeton office and is responsible for dispatching demand response curtailment events, monitoring electric grid, and providing event forecasting and analytics reporting.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Act in accordance with ISO, utility, co-op, customer, or NRG commitments and/or procedures
Communicate all necessary information to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
Communicate operational issues and implement improvements to existing systems and procedures
Monitoring of real-time customer performance data during energy curtailments
Handle inbound calls
Communicate any event monitoring systems errors to IT support, participate in pre-production systems testing, and ensure that system updates do not create an adverse effect on business operations
Build and analyze event forecasting and analytics reports
Review communications templates for accuracy
Communicate with and assist Customer Care representatives
Perform additional duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
The Demand Response Real Time Operator role will require working outside of normal business hours on a rotating shift schedule. Schedules traditionally switch between 6am - 6pm or noon to midnight, but this can change based on business needs. (However, during the initial training phase, which may last up to 2 months, the hours will be 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.)
Minimum Requirements:
HS diploma or GED equivalent
Must be available to work a non-traditional schedule
Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience or equivalent military experience.
Previous Energy industry experience, but not required
Prior experience working in one or more of the following markets (but not required):
ERCOT
MISO
PJM
NYISO
IESO
ISONE
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
Ability to work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work without supervision while carrying out duties
Ability to handle multiple tasks or assignments at the same time
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skill
Organized, task-oriented, and strong attention to detail
Competence in mathematics and technical concepts
