Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a critically important member of the Field Medical Affairs customer-facing team that supports the safe and effective use of psychiatric products by providing timely, scientifically balanced, evidence-based, non-promotional information in response to urgent unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers. As part of the Field Medical Team, this position delivers industry-leading services, including responding to product information requests in response to medical questions received. This position requires clinical and therapeutic knowledge, critical and analytical thinking, and a customer/patient-centric approach.

**This is a one-year contract that will mostly be working from home with some travel to conferences.**



Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, consumers, and payers.
  • Utilize medical information and MSL skills to identify, research, and critically evaluate medical literature to create responses to medical information inquiries.
  • Handle requests across multiple channels and platforms (phone, email, CRM, chat, etc.).
  • Ability to make accurate assessments regarding what information needs to be obtained and the level or depth of information to be collected.
  • Ensure good documentation, high quality, and excellent customer service.
  • Be cross-trained as a Psychiatry MSL, with a focus on schizophrenia, to join and support the field medical team with occasional field engagements as needed.
  • Provide MSL and field medical support at medical congresses.
  • Staff scientific medical affairs booths.
  • Rapid Response duties on an assigned basis.
  • Miscellaneous projects such as market and competitive product research, operational and process improvements, field team training, and field liaison support.



Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced or terminal healthcare degree (preferred PharmD or PhD).
  • Experience and/or Training: 2+ years of MSL psychiatry experience and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Technology proficiency in Medical Information databases, Microsoft Office, and video conference platforms.
  • Therapeutic expertise in psychiatry, with a focus on schizophrenia. Ability to critically evaluate medical literature.
  • Experience in Drug Information or a specialty area, particularly in schizophrenia or other psychiatric conditions.
