Entry to intermediate level position with primary role as direct support to the Director and/or Sr. Quality Manager. Insuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and product safety systems in a manufacturing environment. To provide targeted "Boots on the Ground" support, problem solving, spec/audit assessment, and training solutions to assigned location and teams for quality issue resolution. The position will be heavily focused on working with facilities to learn the pre-mix environment, implement preventative quality systems, and identify improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
50% In support of Director and/or Sr. Quality Manager to insure product safety and quality systems implementation, maintain ingredient approval, training, assessment, and compliance.
20% Proactively manage and resolve product safety and regulatory issues in collaboration with head office quality team, regulatory affairs insuring root cause identification and preventative actions. Provide targeted follow-up on claims and complaints.
20% Develop a working knowledge of pre-mix Quality Control, systems, processes, and procedures as related to plant manufacturing. Act as the champion for product safety/quality; monitor and repost on trends alerting the Director and/or Sr. Quality Mgr.
5% Lead assigned projects in critical process monitoring and capability; working with operations, QA/QC, and plants to establish new product/process measurements and preventative control at the source.
5% Able to back up divisional formulator and create formulations in Brill software as needed.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma
- 3+ months of Quality experience in a manufacturing setting or related experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food, Dairy Science, or related field.
- 2 years of progressive quality assurance experience
