General Purpose
This position is part of the Project Controls group in Rocky Mountain Power. This group is part of the Construction Services group of the Transmission and Distribution Operations division. The position will be based out of the North Temple Office and will support capital projects for the transmission and distribution areas of the company. Supports Company programs and policies.Responsibilities
* Under the direction of the supervisor, develop detailed large and complex project plans, and work breakdown structures to support project activity scheduling.
* Develop cost estimates.
* Develop project summary reports, providing tables and graphs of project earned value.
* Collaborate with corporate offices on cost, budget and procurement issues, determining positive resolution.
* Monitor and identify deviations to plan, and make recommendations to the Project Manager.
* Ensure compliance with corporate governance.
* Create and maintain project schedules in the Primavera scheduling database.
* Create and maintain SAP project structures.
* Develop key performance indicators for critical department metrics. Analyze and monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Analyze SAP project cost data variances and determine necessary corrections.
* Research and evaluate data, and independently develop creative alternative to complex processes and situations.
* Provide application of scheduling logic, constraints, lag/lead relationships, float management, etc. to apply critical path scheduling methodology.
* Develop and analyze ad hoc reports.
In addition Mid Level Project Controls Specialist responsibilities are;
* Develop detailed project plans to support delivery of capital Transmission and Distribution projects.
* Monitor and identify deviations to plan for the project manager and recommend resolution.
* Assure compliance with corporate governance.
* Provide project controls support as a team member on multiple project teams. * Pull project cost data from SAP, analyze variances and assure corrections are implemented.
* Work with other departments within Rocky Mountain Power as needed.
* Complete ad hoc assignment needs as requested to support capital Transmission and Distribution project delivery and supporting functions.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience working with project life cycles.
* Ability to perform research and analysis, including the ability to obtain and evaluate relevant data, and develop creative alternatives to processes and situations.
* Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications.
* Work in a team environment and with all organization levels.
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others within and across the organization.
In addition, Mid Level Project Controls Specialist requirements are;
* A minimum of three years project controls experience is required.
* Working knowledge of SAP.
* Familiarity with scheduling software and processes.
* Solid understanding of construction processes.
Preferences
* Two years of solid SAP project experience.
* Primavera scheduling tool experience.
* Knowledge of the electric utility industry and its regulatory and operating environments.
* Understanding of the project life cycle.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
