Full Job Description

Suffolk University Law School's top-three Legal Writing Program is searching for a full-time tenure-track or tenured Professor of Legal Writing at any rank to join our faculty starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Legal writing faculty teach the required first-year Legal Practice Skills (LPS) course that covers legal research, reasoning, writing, and oral advocacy. Experienced LPS faculty may also have the opportunity to teach in other areas. Support for professional development will be provided. Professors of Legal Writing at Suffolk have full tenure and are wholly integrated into our faculty, including having equity in terms of faculty rights, perquisites, and responsibilities.

We welcome applications from candidates with a strong commitment to teaching legal writing and a record or promise of significant scholarship. Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae or resume, references, and a cover letter. Candidates are encouraged to describe their experience and activities mentoring members of underrepresented groups, describe how issues relating to diversity and inclusion have been or will be addressed in their courses, and/or how their scholarship contributes to building and supporting inclusive communities. Cover letters should be addressed to Professor Kathleen Vinson (kvinson@suffolk.edu), Chair of the Legal Practice Skills Committee. We will be reviewing candidates on a rolling basis and encourage early inquiries and applications.
