Do you have experience helping utilities develop an electric vehicle roadmap or customer program? Are you passionate about making sure the transition to electric transportation is smooth for customers and utilities? Are you knowledgeable about how utilities can work with fleet customers to scale their electric transportation portfolios?
We’re looking for a client-facing candidate with experience in providing actionable recommendations to utilities. If you have deep knowledge of the utility industry, experience with EV programs, and excellent analytical and communication skills, we’d love to talk with you!
The product strategist role sets the direction and manages the entire product lifecycle for E Source’s transportation electrification research services. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be the face of E Source’s EV offerings by aligning our products and content to meet the needs of our utility clients. This is a unique opportunity to be at the center of a major energy industry transformation to electric transportation.
E Source provides predictive data science, research and advisory, and solution services to help utilities make decisions that benefit their customers, their bottom line, and our planet.
What you’ll do
- Set the annual research agenda and maintain the priorities for agile product delivery in a matrixed environment.
- Implement measures that improve product health using continuous improvement principals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support product quality, user satisfaction, and alignment with business goals.
- Understand macro and micro industry trends and their impact on the product.
- Represent client needs in the creation of deliverables. Create and leverage user stories to clearly define user needs and expectations.
- Contribute to the team’s planned content and unplanned work by serving as a subject matter expert in writing and reviewing reports, presenting content, and responding to on-demand research requests.
- Work with sales and marketing teams on go-to-market plans.
- Lead the agenda creation for large in-person events, host online webinars, and conduct client advisory calls in the transportation electrification topical area.
- Visit clients at their offices and attend industry conferences as a speaker and product representative.
What will make you a good fit
- Demonstrated expertise with electric vehicles, managed charging, EV charging equipment and infrastructure, fleet electrification, utility programs, distribution planning, and related areas.
- Knowledge about how utilities plan for electric transportation spending, customer incentives, technical assistance programs, vehicle-grid integration, grid interconnection, EV charging behavior, load forecasting, and grid impacts.
- Prior experience reading, analyzing, interpreting, or creating utility transportation electrification plans.
- Exceptional writing, verbal, and analytical skills; E Source differentiates itself through our readable, clear, concise, and actionable reports and presentations.
- Experience with electric, gas, or water utility demand-side management programs.
- Humility and a collaborative attitude—you know there are things you don't know, and that energizes you; you work well in a team environment; you proactively seek support, advice, and guidance from others; and you’re happy to support your colleagues.
- Rigor and discipline—you manage your time well and your coworkers can count on you to do what you say you’ll do.
- Creativity and openness—you aren't afraid to share your ideas for how we might do things differently.

- Reliability: Providing safe, continuous, and consistent service in the face of increasing volatility caused by climate change, including extreme weather, drought, and fire
- Equity: Making services and programs truly available to all, especially low- and moderate-income residential customers and small and midsize businesses who are often disproportionately impacted by societal events
- Financial stability: Ensuring a bottom line that affords capital and operational expenditures while enabling innovation and giving back to our communities
