Product Design and Research Lead

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Product Design and Research Lead to drive the design and user experience of our products. This role will focus on leading design initiatives, conducting user research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet user needs and business goals. This will be mainly remote with occasional onsite in Long Island City ( a small stipend will be provided for travel).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the product design process from ideation to execution, ensuring a user-centered approach throughout.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define design requirements and solve complex problems.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma that effectively communicate design concepts.
• Manage and prioritize design projects using JIRA, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design work.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continually improve the design process and user experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product design and user experience.
• Proficiency in Figma for design and prototyping.
• Strong understanding of UX principles and methodologies.
• Experience with JIRA for project management and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Nice to have: Experience with User Testing and conducting user research.
