Your role in our mission

As a Process Engineer / Writer Intern at Gainwell, you will gain hands-on experience supporting our commitment to delivering better health and human services outcomes through innovative solutions. You will work within our dynamic Customer Experience (CX) team and contribute to our projects by optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Documentation:
a. Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and guidelines.
b. Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards and best practices.
c. Review and revise existing documentation to reflect changes in processes and ensure consistency.
2. Training & Support:
a. Assist in developing training materials based on updated documentation.
b. Support the training of staff on new processes and procedures, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption.
3. Process Analysis & Improvement:
a. Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
b. Collaborate with team members to understand process workflows and gather insights on current challenges.
c. Develop detailed process maps and flowcharts to visualize and communicate process changes.
4. Support Project Teams:
a. Assist project teams in implementing process improvements by providing documentation support and analysis.
b. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on documentation status and process improvement initiatives.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
a. Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, address documentation needs, and implement process changes.
b. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure alignment on process improvements and documentation updates.

What we're looking for

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and interact with various levels of staff.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely document processes.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and process documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
* Basic understanding of process mapping, workflow design, and business process management principles.
* Prior experience in technical writing, documentation, or process analysis is a plus. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is advantageous but not required.

What you should expect in this role

* Location: Anchorage, AK
* This is a paid internship opportunity.
* This is a hybrid opportunity, requiring travel to the Anchorage office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to accommodate school schedules.
* Availability to work part-time or full-time during the internship period, with flexibility to accommodate school schedules.

The pay range for this position is $33,000.00 - $41,300.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
