EXAMINATION NOTICE

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Police Officer in the Borough of Crafton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Crafton is a historic community located approximately five miles west of downtown Pittsburgh and is a hidden gem in the city’s west end. The Crafton Police Department is known for community policing, long-tenured staff and a collaborative work environment.

Applications forms may be obtained at the Crafton Borough Building, Managers Office, 2^nd Floor, 100 Stotz Avenue, Crafton, PA 15205, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or by US mail, and are also available online at www.craftonborough.com. There is no fee for this application. Applications may be submitted in-person or by US Mail.

General Requirements

Applicants must be US Citizen; successfully completed a minimum of sixty (60) credit hours (copy of degree or transcript submitted with application) OR minimum of 2000 in-serve hours as a Police Officer or Military Police Officer, OR two full years of active military service with an honorable discharge and completed a minimum of thirty credit hours in accredit college; and a valid driver’s license. Be Act 120 Certified under the PA Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act or shall have successfully completed Act 120 Training and successfully passed the final exam, at the time of application. (A copy of your MPOETC certification or transcript must be provided at application. To comply with police department policy, no member shall have tattoos that cannot be covered with the regulation uniform while on duty, including short sleeved uniform shirt. Physical Agility/Fitness Examinations will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2024, beginning at 9:00AM at the Allegheny County Police Training Academy, 700 West Ridge Drive (North Park) - Allison Park, PA 15101, (724) 935-5566. Written exams will be given to eligible candidates who pass the Physical Agility/Fitness Examination immediately following. Applicants must arrive on the date of the examination no later than later than 8:30 am. Valid ID is required.

No reminder of the testing date will be provided to applicants.

Eligible candidates will be notified in writing when oral examination dates have been scheduled.
