MathWorks is seeking an engineer skilled in physics-based modeling and simulation to join our Consulting Services team. In this role you will help our customers in a broad range of industries become self-sufficient in the use of Simulink, Simscape and associated tools to model physical systems and design controls, capturing mechanics and dynamics in support of their physical product and control design workflows. Projects comprise advisory services, coaching, customized physical domain design, and custom modeling and solutions development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consulting engagements and deliver technical services to customers (~50% of time)


  • Deliver consulting services to key customers to enable modeling and simulation of multidomain dynamic systems, including electrical systems and power electronics, fluids and hydraulic systems, and multibody

  • Understand the customer's development processes and engineering challenges

  • Collaborate with account teams to articulate the value of modeling and simulation, build tool adoption and implementation plans

  • Conceive, prototype, and evaluate potential solution strategies

  • Work both independently and in teams to ensure customer enablement and success


Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of customer applications in the Defense sector

  • Experience in system-level modeling and simulation

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink

  • Experience with Simscape for modeling physical systems

  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to prioritize and multi-task based upon changing business and external demands

  • Candidates must be willing to travel based on business needs (~25%)


Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
