Summary

This position is a Motor Vehicle Operator located at the White Earth Health Center (WEHC) with duty station located at the Naytahwaush Health Center, Naytahwaush, Minnesota. This position reports to the Facilities Manager or Designee.

This is an Open Until Filled Announcement and applications will be referred when vacancies occur.

Duties

  • Operates such vehicles as automobiles, passenger vans, and pick-up trucks to transport patients, personnel and/or supplies to and from designated locations.
  • Performs such preventive maintenance services as required for vehicles and ensures cleanliness of vehicle interiors.
  • Completes daily trip reports, accident reports, credit card invoices, and emergency roadside repair forms.
  • Ensures GSA vehicle users' compliance with White Earth IHS Vehicle policy and all applicable federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Complies with all Minnesota Department of Human Services laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines for patient transport services and completes all required forms.

Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS
As a vehicle operator, must maintain a valid state driver's license (Minnesota Class D driver's license or equivalent) and be able to obtain a government driver's license. Work in performed inside and outside I all types of weather. Operator is exposed to the possibility of serious vehicle accidents while driving and other accidents while loading or unloading patients or supplies to and from vehicles. Must be able to drive in all kinds of weather and on various road conditions.

Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. WG-5703-5: Following oral or written instructions and/or work orders; performing motor vehicle operator duties, including follow oral and written instructions for work assignments, follow established traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation, operating motor vehicles under any or all of the following driving conditions: congested roadways, moderately steep mountainous terrain and/or narrow streets.
