Medical Assistant Preceptor Lead-Administration-Central

Job Description

The Medical Assistant Preceptor Lead is responsible for training clinical support staff in alignment with delivering superior patient care at Mountain Park Health Center (MPCH). The MA Preceptor Lead will work closely with the Operations Management Team, Clinical Quality Team, EHR Training Team, and Clinical Leadership to ensure care and services are delivered effectively, consistently, and satisfactorily. The position provides hands on training to staff on front and back office workflows and ensures all staff are prepared to fulfill the role responsibilities in their primary role.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates within teams to provide comprehensive training for clinical support staff, ensuring training model is patient-centered and mission-focused. Develops, updates, and maintains training materials.
  • Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats.
  • Establishes and fosters professional relationships with trainees, allowing them to be active in their learning.
  • Provides constructive feedback and identifies opportunities for growth as appropriate.
  • Subject matter expert for front and back office processes, including providing excellent patient service.
  • Supports the clinics in continuously improving MA performance and clinical competencies.
  • Collaborates with Operations and Clinical leadership on workflow changes and process/policy improvement.
  • Skilled in performing all functions of Medical Assistant III role as outlined in MPHC’s Medical Assistant III job description and Clinical Competency Checklist.
  • Undertakes clinical duties as and when appropriate according to the demands of the business.
  • Serves as a back-up for the Medical Assistant Lead as needed.
  • Must be able to embrace differences among people and able to interact with internal staff as well as external contacts in a culturally competent and respectful manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited program in medical assisting.
  • Three years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care practice.
  • Experience with teaching, supervision, or coaching required.
  • Current CPR card

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in primary care practice.
