Full Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to the manage the successful deployment of a full range of disability and leave management services across the region and business units in a technically robust way? If so, this is the role for you.

As a disability and leave management professional you will be responsible to provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and mentoring to the US Medical and Family Leave Specialist team. In addition, you will direct strategic case management, consultation and administration of leaves and accommodations required by GSK US employees. Leave types include but are not limited to, regulated Federal Medical Leave, regulated state medical and family leaves, GSK care of family member paid leave, GSK paid parental leave.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Line management of the Medical and Family Leave Specialists who manage medical and other leaves for all US employees.
  • Strategic planning, data analysis and benchmarking for leave administration, including recommendations on leave administration policy and plan documents to key stakeholders. Key stakeholders and strategic partners include the US Benefits Committee and Benefits professionals, HR Leaders, Business Leaders, and the Global Employment Law team.
  • Ultimate accountability for GSK compliance with of leave administration including FMLA, ADAAA and individual state requirements to include paid family and medical leave.
  • Determines program plans, workflows, and prioritization of leave administration activities.
  • Quality Assurance for all leave administration activities including case monitoring and case auditing.
  • Annual reporting and consultation to all US sites on medical leave metrics and key drivers of disability.
  • Resolve escalations related to absence and accommodations.
  • Create and maintain knowledge articles associated with US medical and family leave and accommodations.
  • Selection and management of leave administration IT systems and tools

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Experience in disability and leave management

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific related discipline and recognized safety qualification
  • Ability to demonstrate consulting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills and influencing abilities.
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically and engage in long term planning
