As the Logistics Coordinator you will work directly with Mosaic's planning teams to execute against forecasted loading needs. Order and schedule carrier’s equipment for Mosaic's plants, mines and distribution sites throughout NAM and vessel internationally. Monitor and maintain internal/external fleet or vendor owned equipment. Work closely with Mosaic management in negotiating and maintain freight rates and other applicable changes with our vendors. Work closely with and communicate effectively with the Planning Coordinators, vendors, and material handling groups at each of the plants, mines and distribution sites throughout NAM and vessel internationally to ensure timely delivery and loading instructions of equipment. Nominate the carriers and loaded equipment against orders in SAP. Work closely with ticketing personnel as required. Provide key metrics reporting to internal / external management as required.
What will you do?
Serve as key execution contacts to vendors. Participate in negotiating and maintain freight rates and other applicable changes with our vendors. Lead internal/external measurements with vendors.
Order and schedule carrier’s equipment for Mosaic's plants, mines and distribution sites throughout NAM and vessel internationally.
Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning Coordinators, vendors, site material handling groups to ensure timely delivery and loading instructions of equipment.
Provide input for the weekly and monthly Supply Chain meetings, as well as other monthly activity reports. Strong support & involvement to include presentations surrounding logistic execution key metrics.
Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers. Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.
What do you need for this role?
High School Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred with a major in Business, Transportation, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Mining or Supply Chain.
For those candidates without a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, process improvement, inventory, or product management is required
2+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, process improvement, inventory, or product management
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a passion for process improvement
Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities and analyze information to make value-added recommendations and gain stakeholder buy-in
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
SAP experience - preferred
Lean or six sigma training - preferred
Finance knowledge - preferred
Negotiation skills - preferred
