Overview
This role is responsible for leading the quality engineering automation team for the supply chain vertical business lines. The team automates testing within Chick-fil-A Supply, Bay Center Foods, and upstream pilots.
This leadership role is responsible for taking an API centric approach to automate tests of critical business processes across multiple systems related to:
- SIT for launch new distribution centers
- Regression testing of our integration platform
- Regression testing of major SaaS platforms when being upgraded or patched
- Testing across SaaS and Custom platforms
- Load testing high risk areas

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants.
The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components:
- Distribution Center - State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
- Production Distribution Center - Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants
- Transportation - Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants
Responsibilities
- Own solution architecture decisions for the team's platforms
- Lead delivery and operations of the team's products, including both individual contribution and support as well as delegated tasks and support to your team's engineers. We desire our lead engineers to be both leads and engineers, spending about half of their time on leading others and half contributing engineering work themselves
- Lead, mentor, and assess other staff engineers, exemplifying and teaching best practices, helping to solve knotty problems, reviewing code, and sharing stories - Interview, select, onboard, and oversee contract engineers
- Guide partner-led engineering workstreams, contributing to solution design and code reviews
- Guide engineering team in adoption of Chick-fil-A software engineering standards - Identify & propose emerging software engineering technologies, methodologies and/or approaches
- Driver Engineering excellence
- Gain deep understanding of business processes across Supply Chain so the team can maximize impact and operate at a high level
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience designing complex software solutions
- Experience using workflow engines such as AWS Step Function or Air Flow
- Experience mentoring and leading a team, including good interpersonal and team collaboration skills
- Experience leading an agile development team, including sprints, pointing, and daily standups
- Broad and deep programming experience in Python
- Experience with Git for source control and setting up automated CI/CD processes and technologies
- Experience implementing application security, software design patterns, and the SDLC
- Proven ability to positively influence the engineering culture and practices in a professional environment
- Partner closely with technical product owners to understand, estimated, and deliver on business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Postgres
- Experience with CI/CD, agile, or similar software development practices
- Experience developing microservices
- Experience developing and deploying software in AWS
