Summary
This position serves as an IT Specialist (Network) located at the Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center. This position reports to the Supervisory IT Specialist or designee. GS-07 gains experience toward the full performance level of GS-11 once qualifications requirements met.

Duties
The position is located in an ambulatory health care center located on the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs reservation. For more information on the Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center, visit the .
If incumbent is hired at the GS-07 level, the selected candidate gains experience toward the full performance level of the GS-11 to perform the duties listed below.
- Administer, configure, and manage the Warm Springs Service Unit's Local Area Network (LAN).
- Develop, expand, and modify the Warm Springs Service Unit's LAN.
- Oversees and directs the local Information Security Program.
- Performs as Help Desk Manager.
- Assists in the maintenance and modification of the existing telecommunications system.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the education requirements specified in the section titled Education OR the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
GS-5: bachelor's degree.
GS-7: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.
GS-9: master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level to a PH.D. Or equivalent doctoral degree
Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

- Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Grade GS-07:
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- Examples of this level include work experience where knowledge of, and skill in applying network standards and equipment; network architecture principles; and local area network and wide area network (LAN and WAN) principles. Must be sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN and WAN components such as routers, hubs, switches, and servers;; to troubleshoot and maintain the stability of communications lines and equipment; to install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN and WAN components such as routers, hubs, switches, and servers; to assist in maintaining network services, such as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Server (DNS), and directory services; to install, test, and configure network workstations and peripherals; or sufficient knowledge to instruct customers in logging on and accessing network services or to identify the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities in response to network problems and deficiencies; e.g., degradation of service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Grade GS-09:
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- For level, sufficient knowledge of network operations, management, and maintenance methods and concepts, network architecture principles and concepts; network optimization techniques; and analytical reasoning to serve as network administrator; configuring hubs, switches, and routers; monitoring network performance; performing network diagnostics; analyzing network traffic patterns; and installing network software fixes and upgrade.
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- For this level includes work experience where knowledge of, and skill in applying network operations, management, and maintenance methods and concepts, network architecture principles and concepts; network optimization techniques; and analytical reasoning is sufficient to serve as network administrator; configuring hubs, switches, and routers; monitoring network performance; performing network diagnostics; analyzing network traffic patterns; and installing network software fixes and upgrade.
