Summary
This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Cybersecurity Operations Division. As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will serve as the Bureau expert, senior technical advisor, and representative before entities both internal and external to the agency on issues related to IT security, including high level policy issues. You will provide IT security policy recommendations affecting the entire Bureau to BEP Executive and Office Chief staff members.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
- Lead the review and evaluation of the Bureau IT security and infrastructure protection program, including policies, guidelines, tools, methods, and technologies; identify problem areas; updates or establishes new requirements; and make recommendations for a fully compliant infrastructure protection program to be implemented throughout the agency.
- Serve as the Bureau subject matter expert on BEP's vulnerability and asset inventory scanning tool sets. You will lead efforts to develop scripts and code development work with APIs to define required reports and outputs.
- Serve as the lead IT Security expert to define security requirements, security assessments, and security recommendations using industry standards as reference models. Review, analyze, and architect Zero Trust security configurations, designs, and solutions.
- Apply threat modeling techniques for developing custom-tailored Zero-Trust controls that apply to secure design and architecture methodologies for network, data and application deployments and work to infuse Zero Trust design principles across all pillars in Zero Trust model protections.
