Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for providing a reliable, flexible, scalable, secure and efficient IT infrastructure to meet current and future organizational needs. They have deep knowledge and hands-on experience in enterprise-wide platforms, and solve technical problems while working on technology initiatives. Infrastructure Engineers have strong architectural, leadership, and technical skills. They ensure delivery of high-quality artifacts, define standards and configuration for the IT infrastructure and ensure adherence to these standards. Infrastructure Engineers interact in a highly effective manner with other team members and management, drive innovation, and influence delivery and performance.
The Infrastructure Engineer performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of applications or programs supporting the company business processes and operations and/or network-based (cloud) product systems. Infrastructure Engineers evaluate, install, acquire, modify, and support operating systems, database software, or utilities software. Infrastructure Engineers plan, conduct, and direct the investigation of business problems with automated systems solutions and contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, or design of systems or architecture used throughout the IT solution set.
The role of the Infrastructure Engineer for the Pharmacy InfoSystems Team will be to perform work necessary to maintain an enterprise server infrastructure in multiple warehouse locations and data centers with the primary focus on the Linux, Windows, Platforms. This person will be responsible for labs, Q/A, Disaster Recovery, High Availability, Non-Production and Production environments. This person will provide planning, documentation, and support for all environments as appropriate and with the appropriate sense of urgency. This person will configure and maintain the physical and logical layouts of the hardware. The Infrastructure Engineer will ensure a high degree of focus on quality; neatness and process control to ensure proper change control processes take place for any change being made to the hardware and software platforms.

ROLE
● Leads/Collaborates the technical evaluation of all hardware and infrastructure and makes recommendations, sources quotes, and the preparation of paperwork.
● Implements practices, processes, and procedures consistent with Costco's information security policy and IT standards

● Automates deployment of applications and changes with CI/CD pipelines by leveraging DevOps skill sets.
● Builds infrastructure automation utilizing tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, etc.
● Evaluates vendor hardware recommendations for operations reliability.
● Designs and implements solutions to meet business needs while developing and enforcing system and security standards.
● Builds prototypes of potential features.
● Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents and standards.
● Enhances automation of systems and platforms and identifies opportunities for streamlining and continuous process improvement.
● Contributes, interprets, and communicates enterprise, technical, project, and operational strategies to the team.
● Develops team vision to drive new capabilities against a published roadmap, in conjunction with management.
● Ensures that proposed and existing systems are aligned with organizational standards, goals, and objectives.
● Formulates and directs activities that align short term goals and long-term initiatives while providing accurate and timely estimates (work breakdown schedules).
● Works with teams, management, and stakeholders to conceptualize, design, build, test, and release products.
● Analyzes user and project requirements for solutions.
● Identifies and resolves problems, often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions in accordance with incident and problem management services, policies, procedures and SLA’s.
● Documents and diagrams solutions, configurations, and issue resolution and root cause analysis steps.
● Provides subject matter expertise for technical and operational best practices training.
● Identifies opportunities for streamlining and increasing effectiveness through continuous process improvement and automation.
● Designs and implements solutions to meet business needs while developing and enforcing system and security standards.
● Analyzes resource capacity and availability to meet and anticipate requirements while maintaining a secure environment.
● Leads and collaborates on design, configuration, development, testing, and troubleshooting of IT solutions.
● Leads the development of implementation strategies with fixed costs and deliverables defined for each phase.
● Evaluates vendor hardware and software recommendations for operations reliability.
● Facilitates and/or collaborates on design, choice of technologies, and deployment strategies.
● Provides third level escalation for recovery and restoration in the event of a disaster or major incident.
● Analyzes user and project requirements for solutions.
● Implements practices, processes, and procedures consistent with Costco's information security policy and IT standards.
● Provides subject matter expertise for technical and operational best practices training.
● Identifies opportunities for streamlining and increasing effectiveness through continuous process improvement and automation.
● Plans, installs, configures, tests, supports, and maintains Application configurations for Linux/Unix OS.
● Collaborates with internal support teams and 3rd party vendors to support and implement tools.
● Maintains architectural artifacts pertaining to the environment, including drawings, data flow diagrams, and comprehensive support documentation.
● Manages growth and performance of the systems.
● Creates and runs reports, dashboards and monitoring relating to performance and capacity planning.
● Manages the hardware management code base and coordinates upgrades, patches and configuration changes as necessary.
● Establishes and maintains operational processes to maintain the performance and health of the environment.
● Contributes to the solutions of application teams across the organization.
REQUIRED
● Experience Supporting enterprise class computer systems.
● Excellent and proven problem-solving skills.
● Strong attention to detail (organized, methodical). Proven history of keeping hardware and software configurations optimized.
● Experience with Windows Server systems Admin.
● Experience with enterprise class virtualization, such as VMWare vSphere 7.
● Experience with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise / SUSE)
● PowerShell, Bash/shell scripting.
● Excellent documentation skills and strong sense for the importance of quality documentation.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to work effectively, in groups or independently, and deliver exceptional results with minimum supervision.
● Ability to work well under stress and handle crisis situations professionally.
● Able to travel occasionally to support GHS environments at our Data Centers and warehouse locations.
Recommended
● Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent formal training and experience.
● Programming language such as C#, Java,
● Experience with Cloud infrastructure such as Azure.
● Experience with infrastructure engineering practices in an Agile environment.
● Experience with Oracle databases.

Pay Ranges:
Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000
Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
Level SR - $150,000 - $190,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
