Summary


This position is located at US Mint,Financial Directorate - Human Capital Division. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will be applying, a comprehensive body of HR rules, procedures, and technical methods sufficient to: carry out limited projects; analyze a variety of routine facts; research minor complaints or problems that are not readily understood; and summarize HR facts and issues.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-7. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Processes a fall range of actions, including those that have unusual conditions or issues requiring deviation from standard procedures to complete the action.
  • Assists HR specialists and others by performing structured segments of their work or participating on projects and studies.
  • Performs detailed review of records and other documentation, preparing and presenting summaries of information preparatory to further analysis and processing.Conducts interviews to identify and organize pertinent facts of a situation.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-05: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as possessing ALL of the following:

- responding to inquiries in person, via email, and on the telephone; AND
- reviewing files and documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines AND
- managing documents using automated systems such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.

OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: four (4) years of education above the high school level.

OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
