Job Overview:
As the Group & Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving group and events business for Alila Ventana Big Sur. You will focus on growing market share by securing high-value group bookings, corporate retreats, meetings, weddings and exclusive events. Your role will involve building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers, leveraging creative sales strategies, and ensuring seamless execution of sales techniques to close business. The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced sales professional with a passion for luxury hospitality and an understanding of the unique experiences we offer in Big Sur.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve group and events sales targets, focusing on high-end corporate retreats, intimate gatherings, and private celebrations.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, and event organizers, ensuring Ventana Big Sur remains top of mind for high-value events.
- New Business Development: Identify and target key growth opportunities, including emerging markets and new segments, through proactive outreach and creative sales initiatives.
- Proposal & Contract Management: Prepare tailored proposals and negotiate contracts that reflect the resort’s positioning and deliver value for both the client and the resort.
- Event Planning Collaboration: Collaborate with the events and operations teams to ensure the seamless execution of all group and events bookings, delivering a flawless guest experience.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to refine sales strategies and enhance the resort’s market position.
- Brand Representation: Act as an ambassador for Alila Ventana Big Sur, embodying our brand values and presenting the resort in the best possible light at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Revenue & Budget Management: Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and achieve revenue targets for group and event sales
The salary Range for this position is $66,000 to $100,000 plus a Sales Incentive bonus paid out quarterly and uncapped. This is the pay rate for this position at Ventana Big Sur, and Alila Resort reasonably expects to pay.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales, with a strong track record of success in group and events sales.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to close high-value group bookings and meet sales targets.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the luxury hospitality segment and the expectations of discerning clientele. Experience in eco-luxury or wellness-oriented properties is a plus.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and creative, with a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in sales and CRM software. Familiarity with Hyatt systems is a plus.
