Who will you be working with?

This position is part of the fulfillment team at the Erie site location.

Our Erie, PA site is the largest facility under Wabtec; located on beautiful Lake Erie in northern Pennsylvania and part of the Wabtec family of companies. How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Fulfillment team, you will be responsible for delivering on material needs. In this role, you will focus on reducing supplier lead-times, drive to improve supplier OTD%, improve material availability by reducing overdue and late purchase orders, and be responsible for overall purchase order management and other key fulfillment metrics. The Fulfillment Leader will drive to ensure timely delivery of short cycle components to meet business objectives, coordinate defective material returns to suppliers, and minimize premium transportation costs.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning, production control, sourcing, configuration control, inventor control or logistics role)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing / materials / fulfillment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in fulfillment, purchasing and writing
  • Experience with Oracle 11.3 / AP systems
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a lean environment
  • PC and database proficiency
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Six Sigma training

What will your typical day look like?

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, finished goods, equipment, and supplies for production and plant operations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in scheduling of materials from suppliers
  • Direct and formulate procedures and policies to improve an On-Time-Delivery
  • Troubleshoot materials availability problems with production and take corrective action
  • Consult with Management, Engineering, production supervision, and other staff regarding materials requirements, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Align with Sourcing Program Leaders to ensure proper supplier selection and
  • Work to control inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects as required to meet schedules
  • Interface between suppliers and production shops for prioritization of shop load to meet customer demands
  • Interface with material input organization to assure realistic and timely delivery of products to meet schedule requirements
  • Collaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operational goals
  • Coordinate all production teams’ material status, production priorities, and delivery commitments
  • Determine measurement systems to be used, inventory levels, schedules, and appropriate system changes
  • Assist in determining manpower needs to meet facility measurement and budget goals
  • Provide training on material procedures and processes

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $77,400 - $110,300.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
