Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that all tableware, pots and pans, utensils, other kitchen equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitary.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists with dirty food tray removal from nursing units.
2. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas, including dish room.
3. Cleans and washes dishes by hand or machine, including trays, silverware and pots and pans for morning, lunch and dinner meals.
4. Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen work area by cleaning and washing machines, mopping floor, taking garbage and cardboard to the dumpster.
5. Maintains compliance with JCAHO, State Health Department, and OSHA regarding on-going required job training and health standards.
6. Transfers food in kitchen in a timely manner and using proper protocol (wears hair restraint & gloves).
