Full Job Description

General Description of Major Tasks of Position         

This position is responsible for all financial functions for YJBM, as well as maintaining the G&L, performing month-end closing, and preparing monthly financial reports.  This position also prepares various reports for YMUS and YMC and has management responsibility over the Financial/Accounting Department. This position is responsible for solving issues and creating goals within the scope of responsibility. Good communication skills and the ability to use those skills with all levels of personnel are required.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities      

  1. Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
  2. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  3. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  4. Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
  5. Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
  6. Prepare financial analysis for product investment and product costing decisions.
  7. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
  8. Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop business plans for the company.
  9. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  10. Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
  11. Serve as primary liaison with YMUS and YMC to company financial issues.
  12. Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  13. Oversee Physical Inventory and analyze results.
  14. Prepare various reports for YMUS. 
  15. Prepare various budget and forecasts for YMUS. 
  16. Review account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts. 
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational and Work Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline. Minimum 5 years of finance experience, 5+ years experience in manufacturing preferred, with a strong cost accounting background.  Experience performing complex financial modeling and analysis and demonstrated proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications.  Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.  Knowledge and experience in project management.  Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability required. 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, working knowledge of ADP PC/Payroll, ADP Reporting (Webb based) E-Time, and ReportSmith
  • Working knowledge of SAP, QAD, and FAS 100
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and math

Environmental and Working Conditions

Work involves walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and working closely with all departments and levels of the facility, etc.
