The Team

We are seeking an Engineer to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Network Engineering & Technology Solutions team. The Network Engineering & Technology Solutions team designs, maintains, and monitors all active network connectivity and performance. Day to day you will evaluate new products, design commercially viable end-to-end technical solutions, and develop sound standards based on industry trends and sales/customer needs. You will drive success by engaging with customer technical leads to understand their needs and strategic objectives and partnering with technology original equipment manufacturers to drive solutions that will satisfy those needs.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end solutions and associated network architecture.
  • Document and maintain, in consultation with operational teams, comprehensive engineering standards for offered solutions.
  • Scope, define, and modify solution offerings in accordance with customer needs and based on network evolution and industry trends.
  • Develop detailed test plans to validate the functionality of new products, document results prior to introduction.
  • Support, with relevant stakeholders, engineering management’s development and execution of plans for new product introduction with impact analyses, cross-functional communications, trainings, and overall delivery readiness.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work documentation for the outsourcing of routine engineering tasks.
  • Actively participate and engage with product line management and Innovation department teams and help develop plans to operationalize new products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience required.
  • iBWave Level 2 certification or 2 years of hands-on iBWave experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, at least 2 of which directly involved in-building network solutions preferred.
  • Experience with Radio Access Network technology, Evolved Packet Core, Virtualization, software defined networks, and IP-based networks preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with a proven capability to work well both independently and with others to solve problems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present ideas and suggestions concisely, clearly, and effectively.
  • Approximately 25% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
