This position is for the Software Engineer II in the Commercial Navigation Software team reporting to the Senior Software Engineering
Key Responsibilities
* Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for entry level engineering responsibilities. Uses basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals to complete defined project subtasks. May interact with internal customers and team members in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.
* Responsible for executing well defined project SW subtasks in order to meet customer specifications (designing, testing, etc). Ensures own work is completed on time and to specifications.
* May present findings to team members. Exchanges task level information (system requirements, technical drawings, specifications, etc.) with team members.
* May participate in project meetings and presentations.
* Communicates any non-compliance to pertinent parties.
* Applies prescriptive methodology to project tasks. May solve low complexity task issues using engineering knowledge, tools and principals.
Skill Description
* Completes software work products to achieve certification and customer acceptance.
* Participates in project status meetings and provides status updates to the SW Lead Engineer/Manager.
* Establishes and applies methodology to new concepts and recommends enhancements to advance projects and processes.
* Identifies and proposes technical improvements using engineering knowledge and principles.
* May assist in developing Aerospace Engineering processes and guidelines.

The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,200 - $119,100. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE
* 2+ years of related experience in Embedded SW Engineering.
* Must be a US Citizen or US Person (Permanent Resident) due to export control requirements.

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, mathematics.
* Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
* Solid programming experience in C or C++.
* Strong documentation and writing skills.

* Ability to support multiple projects while meeting customer expectations.
* Inertial sensing and navigation domain knowledge.
* Experience with software architectures, design methods & development process, including thorough working knowledge of real-time, embedded software design & development in a regulated industry.
* Understanding of aerospace industry software development standards and requirements (or other safety critical/high regulatory industries).
* Self-motivated and consistently takes the initiative to get things done.
